-How to Commission a design-
If you have an idea in mind then that’s great.
Just get in touch, give a start point or a loose outline of your idea, then leave it in my capable hands.
If there’s something specific you want included in your design just send me an email and attach some pics for reference. These will then be used to aid in the personalisation of your design.
Maybe a previous design of mine or one from my editions collection has inspired you and you’d like something similar.
Or maybe you simply want a one-off design and don’t want to think too hard about it
so leave it entirely up to me.

A Classic size 260 x 215 mm design will cost €320
This equates to roughly 10-12 layers of work, fully boxed and ready to go.
As the process is quite organic, it is sometimes necessary to cut a layer or two extra to complete the design. If the design calls for it then it’s worth doing and comes as no extra cost to you.

• Woodwork @ €25
• Layer work @ €25/layer
Box size: 10” x 8” incl. frame (10 layer minimum)
Larger scale commissions available on request.

- Timescale -
On placing your order you will be given an approximate date for completion of your personalised design.
Allowances can be made if a certain deadline is to be met, just get in touch.
Orders for Christmas can be made up until the 07th of December.

Most notably Jonathan was commissioned to do a design for President Michael D. Higgins'
(President of Ireland) son's wedding in 2016 and has shipped work to private collections in all corners of the globe.
Including Spain, United States. United Kingdom, Romania, Australia, Brazil, Wales, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Poland and all over his native Ireland.

We got a piece commissioned for a wedding gift for a family member who lives abroad. The light box was absolutely beautiful and was so personal to the couple as it reflected where they live now, and the countries they’re from. Would definitely recommend a Light and Shadow Box, as such a unique and beautiful gift.
My husband and I were visiting Wexford, Ireland two years ago when we saw the shop with the Light and Shadow boxes. We really loved them. My sister and her husband are always so generous with our family, and it is hard to find a gift that is special enough for them. We thought this would be perfect, because they were in the process of building a vacation home. I had some pictures of what the finished house would look like and sent them to Jonathan to see if he could create a box for them. The finished product was even better than I imagined. I especially loved his addition of my sister and my brother-in-law having a glass of wine on the front porch. It was such a nice touch. They were overwhelmed by it (which is very hard to do), and they display it proudly in their home.
Love this place. I got a light box from here which is magical! It’s wonderful to have this unique piece In our home, and it’s remarked on by anybody who sees it. The detail in the pieces is incredible. Would recommend as an extra special gift or as a treat to yourself.
Wonderful pieces available in Light and Shadow. I had a piece commissioned which was a replica of our wedding photo. It turned out absolutely fabulous. I also bought another piece as a present which was so unique and much appreciated.
